I have been involved with the Arizona Fiero Club since the fall of 1999 when I bought my 86 GT. In that time we have tried many formats including meeting in the evenings, daytime, cruises, cruise-ins and technical sessions. We have members who convert their cars with new bodies, new engines, custom interiors and anything else they can think of. We have had days at the races, days at picnics, days at local manufacturers and days carving up winding canyon roads all over Arizona. We seem to get the best turn out for events on the west side of Phoenix although I am at a loss to explain that since our mailing list indicates we are evenly distributed across the Phoenix Metro area.
I currently am the owner of 8 Fieros, one each from 84 to 88 with a spare 86 and 87. That sounds like a lot of fun, huh??!! They break down like this: 84 SE auto, 84 Indy, 85 4spd GT, 86 Auto GT Fastback, 86 GT Fastback 4.9 5spd, 87 auto GT fastback, 87 4cyl base coupe convertible conversion, and 88 4.9 auto GT Fastback. I distribute them among my children and keep the rest at my house.
The Tucson group has some very active members, with Greg and Tom flying the Fiero flag in the autocross racing world. Greg has raced at the national level in SCCA competition and Tom has set his sights on being the fastest Fiero in racing in the US. With his 4.9 cadillac engine and aggressive driving style I am sure he will make it.
So, come on along for the ride and join in the Fiero Fun. You won't be sorry you got involved with us.
